What is Axleless?
Axleless® suspension systems provide extreme low floors by completely eliminating the rear axles in cab chassis vehicles and trailers. With GVWR ratings maintained, Axleless® introduces a remarkably smooth ride previously unachievable with conventional, straight-axle suspensions. Axleless® is a fully independent suspension system; and because it is an air ride system, there is the added bonus of kneeling capabilities. This means that an already low floor can be lowered even further when in a parked position. On a cab chassis platform, Axleless® works in conjunction with a patented, full-time, front-wheel-drive conversion. In trailers, the step-in floor height is maintained between the rear wheel wells with an inside wheel-house clearance width of up to 120″. Trailers with Axleless® suspensions haul up to 35% more cargo and have a lower center of gravity. This allows for improved roll stability and dual air-ride leveling valves providing adjustable and accurate side-to-side load distribution.
Axleless® is available in two forms; individual wheel assemblies, as seen in the Axleless® Z-Frame™, or as complete trailer modules, which conveniently integrate into the trailer manufacturing process.
